Dynamic interactions of particles with wetted structured component surfaces
In this project, the influence of the morphology of wetted structured component surfaces on the dynamic interactions with solid particles is investigated. The simulations with the coupled Discrete Element Method (DEM) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) will be performed to gain new knowledge about the influ-ence of topographical microstructure and wetting of component surfaces on the contact and sticking mech-anisms of particles during collision. The models will be validated using collision experiments.
